Q1 What is the difference between SOFT Programs and Middle Path Program ?

Ans - SOFT programs are level wise programs starting with age of 9 years. So SOFT 1 = 9 years, SOFT 2 = 10 years, SOFT 3 = 11 years and so on. Generally once you are registered for SOFT 1, next year you will be eligible for SOFT 2 and then in 3rd year to SOFT 3. However sometimes, children join late (i.e. after program date or because of age). To accommodate them Middle Path Programs are designed. Following examples will clarify these aspects.

e.g No. 1 - A child aged 11 years interested in joining first time for our programs, then he should naturally be included only in Middle Path 1 as he has not done SOFT 1 and 2 earlier.

e.g. No. 2 - A child age 9 years inquired on 21st April 2021 and is interested in our programs. Now as per age child is fit for SOFT 1, but the SOFT 1 program is already over (between 13th April to 22nd April 2021). So now he will be enrolled for Middle Path 1 Program

Content wise SOFT and Middle Path - both programs are the same. But SOFT programs are more intensive.So ideally one should continue with SOFT programs.

More importantly, the usefulness of these programs lies in continuity of child year over year. i.e. Not considering SOFT or Middle Path programs as just once a while summer camps.

Q2 My child is 10 years old and is interested in joining the SOFT 2 program directly ? Is it allowed as he has not done SOFT 1 in earlier year ?

Ans - As per DSPPL policy, registration is allowed as per age to the specific program until it doesn't result in skipping 2 levels. So in this case, by age the child is qualified for SOFT 2 and as per policy, by registering for SOFT 2 directly he is skipping only one level. So, he will be allowed to enrol directly for the SOFT 2 program. However, a child aged 11 years joining first time for the programs is not allowed to join SOFT 3 directly, as it will result in skipping 2 levels at a time.

Q3 My child is 11 years, He has done SOFT 2 in last year. Now he is eligible for SOFT 3 as well as for Middle Path 1 (as age group of 9 to 11 years). His friend is also 11 year old and is joining for the first time. Can my child and his friend join Middle Path 1, as both of them are interested in joining together ?

Ans - Since your child has already done SOFT 2 last year, he is eligible for SOFT 3 this year. You should enrol for SOFT 3 first. His friend is 11 years old and hence has to register for Middle Path 1 only. If SOFT 3 program date(s) and Middle Path 1 program date(s) are different, your child may join for the Middle Path 1 program as well. But we suggest that he should do SOFT 3 and additionally if time permits and he is interested, let him join the Middle Path 1 program as well.

Q4 Date of birth criteria prescribed for the program is very rigid or some concession is allowed ?

Ans - Every year DSPPL programs start from April. So we take March as the cut off date. This is like school admission where cut off is generally June or July. This is for convenience and not for discouraging any child for the registration. Idea is to take children of the same age which will be useful assuming the same level of understanding for that age. However a relaxation upto maximum 3 months may be allowed. e.g. - A child whose date of birth is say 5th January 2012 is getting fit into SOFT 2, while birth date criteria for SOFT 1 is those born between 1st April 2012 to 31st March 2013. Now the child has two options. Join SOFT 2 as age criteria is met or Join SOFT 1 this year to cover the curriculum from the beginning.

Q5. As a coordinator, parents are inquiring what is being taught in these classes and I am not able to answer their question ?

Ans - We understand this question, as most of the parents are looking for the summer programs as hobby classes (arts, crafts) or specific subject learning classes (maths, science) or entertaining classes (paying tabla, singing etc) which are more or less an extension of school education or tuition. All these classes get classified as "specific activities" . Parents are comfortable for this and hence obviously they are looking for "what my child is going to learn".

Honestly, DSPPL programs are not for teaching any specific subject or topic or activities. They are about human life.

We do have sessions like Yoga, Music, Arts, Communication, Stories, Value Education, Rudra Chanting, Behavioural aspects and so on. After every 45 minutes we change session topic, faculty and mode so as to give fresh aspects to the participants. Still these are just names given for the sessions which we conduct. The real agenda is "self discovery", imbibing 24 values to create a holistic personality, to bring out the divine character of your child.

Working parents will agree that after some years in their professional career, to grow further, soft skills matter the most rather than the technical knowledge and subject knowledge they have acquired. Soft skills are but the expressions of the moral and ethical values of that individual. You can learn subjects in schools and colleges, but the morality, values and ethics are developed through life experiences and our reaction or response to those life situations

arising out of our own ability, approach and attitude. If we change one aspect of it, the result will change. Teaching life experiences as a curriculum is not possible though its understanding is crucial. Same thing is with DSPPL programs, where we provide various options to discover and / or improve our abilities, approach and attitude.

Another household example is the presence of salt in our day to day food. Even though one may be a great cook and has used the best raw material. Without salt, there will be no taste for the food. But have you seen "salt" as an item listed on the menu card of any hotel - though they may write pickle and salad also ?.

So the topic names are given in the program leaflet, essence is hidden inside for making your child an ideal citizen who will be an asset for the home and Society at large.

Q6. I am not able to remit funds for registration fees. What are the bank details of DSPPL ?
